Clinical Midwifery Educator - Grade 1 #203773

An opportunity exists for a Registered Midwife to join the Midwifery Education Team as a Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) in Maternity and Gynaecology at the John Hunter Hospital. The position is being offered on a permanent basis at 20 hours per week on a 5 day roster. The CME provides direct clinical support and facilitated education and mentoring to student midwives, midwifery staff, new graduate midwives and newly appointed or less experienced employees to develop high quality midwifery skills and excellence in care provision for women and families in our care. The successful applicant will work closely with a team of CME's, Midwife Consultants, Midwifery Managers and Midwifery Educators assisting with service education requirements, midwifery students program requirements and staff professional development opportunities. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team and will demonstrate excellent contemporary midwifery skills and knowledge and qualities of leadership and innovation in their current midwifery practice.
