Consultant Psychiatrists are invited to apply to become part of a Mental Health Service that has a strong focus on quality improvement and is at the forefront of the use of clinical redesign strategies that are linked to improved quality of care and engagement with the community of a multidisciplinary team. Your ability to work collaboratively and with colleagues from all health related disciplines will assist you in developing strong local links with other health and welfare providers. A background of commitment to evidence based practice, conducting education and training programs and initiating research and/or service evaluation will be highly regarded. There is a strong multidisciplinary focus allowing you to collaborate across teams and with a variety of sub specialities. Some of the speciality services you would liaise with include CAYMHS and SMHSOP.

The position will mainly work across four different sites: Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospitals, along with Nowra Community Health Service. You may be required to also visit other facilities in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). There are opportunities to work either part-time or full-time hours – you can work what is best for your lifestyle.
