Applications are invited from enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Central Coast Community Nursing Service.
This advertisement is for two permanent full time positions, at various locations across the Central Coast Local Health District, and the hours of work are 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with the potential to work occasional weekends once competencies are gained and as vacancies in the roster allow.
You will work within a fully supported environment visiting clients requiring care in their own home.
Community Nurses strive towards the provision of high quality nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation using best practice principles as part of a collaborative partnership with clients, families/carers and other key stakeholders.
The focus of Community Nursing is on the promotion and maintenance of health. It is also concerned with early recognition of and prompt intervention in the disease process and with rehabilitation activities, all of which aim to prevent disease, retard its progress, minimise its effects and assist the individual to achieve and maintain an optimum level of independence, or a peaceful death when life can no longer be sustained.
Community Nurses, recognising the importance of social and ecological influences on the health needs of the individual, ensure that community nursing is relevant by developing responsive strategies to enable them to adapt to the changing health needs of the community.

You will receive a comprehensive orientation when you begin and will be working within a strong learning environment.
We are also currently recruiting to establish an Eligibility List which may be used to fill future temporary or permanent, full or part time positions as well as offering suitable Registered Nurses some Casual work in Community Nursing. Temporary positions may be in the form of leave relief or when a vacancy arises until recruitment takes place. This may lead to the opportunity of more permanent work.
