About the Role 

To deliver safe, effective medical care to the patients of CMN under the supervision of specialist staff whilst undertaking learning and professional development as outlined by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as part of the Advanced Training program.

 

Duties (include but not limited to)


Advanced Trainees are expected to perform at a senior level whilst under supervision of the General Medical Physicians. The role involves rotation through positions such as acute inpatient teams, Medical Assessment and Admission Zone (MAAZ), the Maitland Hospital and various sub-specialties. There is also exposure to sub-specialty outpatient clinics and the rural outreach program.


 


Skills and Experience (include but not limited to) 



  • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

  • Passed both Part I (written) and Part II (clinical) FRACP examination (or equivalent). Completed at least four years residency since graduation

  • Demonstrate exemplary clinical performance when managing patients with complex health needs within the hospital, outpatient clinic and community settings. Supported by submissions of two current referees.

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and work within the multidisciplinary team when managing patients with complex health needs.

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a senior or leadership position.

  • Demonstrates ability and skill in supervision and education of Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) and other clinical staff.

  • Demonstrates understanding of risk management, quality control and clinical governance.
