Purpose of Position

Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position (S) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarly located at blue Mountians District ANZAC Memorial Hospital within the Department of Emergency.

 

Successful applicants will be required to work day and evening shifts.

 

Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 2 months, will be considered. If successful, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after th relevant qualifciations and requirment are formally completed.

 

The number of sessions wil be negotiated. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Moutains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

Possess Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position

Sound clinical knowledge in Emergency Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty

High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards

Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical/ Dental Practitioner including modeling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff

Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Emergency Medicine demonstrated by relevant qualifications and/or appropriate post-Fellowship clinical experience.

Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research as required within the Department.
