An exciting opportunity exists to join our unique team on a 10-month contract as our Recreation Program Manager. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to take over the weekly activities program, delivering a high quality adapted recreation service to our guests. Some of our current program includes: surfing, rock-climbing, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing and golf!

Your main duties will include:

  • Coordination and facilitation of our weekly activities program  
  • Development and implementation of a new 2018/19 summer program
  • Provision of recreational activities
  • Management, maintenance and development of adaptive equipment to enable participation for all our guests.
  • Education of guests for ongoing participation opportunities when they return home.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Therapeutic Recreation, Management in Sport and Exercise, Sport and Exercise Science, Health & Physical Education or equivalent 
  • Recent experience and demonstrated skills working with people with a disability within a community setting. Experience working with the SCI population is highly desirable, however not essential.
  • Skills and experience in networking and liaising with community sport and recreation organisations and associations
  • Strong ocean based skills as well as being a confident ocean swimmer and knowledge of surf safety
  • A passion to learn and the ability to think critically, be resourceful and problem solve
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence
  • Available to work Saturdays and Public Holidays
