Purpose of Position

To provide high quality comprehensive speech pathology services to the patients, clients and carers of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), in order to promote optimal health outcomes.

Perform clinical duties as per site requirement and as directed with the adult service.

The position may be required to work a 7 day rotating roster and may include weekend work.

 

A wonderful opportunity is available to enjoy the splendour of the south coast! We are looking for a speech pathologist to work in the community, servicing the palliative care and stroke rehabilitation case-loads. This position will suit a speech pathologist with post graduate experience, who is able to manage clients independently in the community with the support of a multidisciplinary team.

 

This is a temporary full time maternity relief position until 02 September 2018, with the possibility of an extension at same/reduced hours.  Previous applicants need not apply.

Selection Criteria 1. Tertiary degree in speech pathology (or equivalent) with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

2. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills, with a high degree of computer literacy.

3. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and set priorities.

4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

5. Experience working with clients with communication and swallowing disorders.

6. Recent and relevant experience in the assessment and management of clients in a hospital or community setting.

7. Excellent time management skills.

8. Current driver's licence (Minimum P2) and willingness to travel for work purposes.
