Purpose of Position The Undergraduate Assistant in Nursing (UAIN) is responsible for assisting in delivery of quality individualised care to patients of Sydney Children’s Hospital under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse within guidelines set by the NSW Department of Health, the National Registration Board, South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service and Sydney Children’s Hospital – Division of Nursing.
  Applications are invited from undergraduate Nursing Students who will be entering into their third year of undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing studies in 2011 (or 2nd yr if enrolled in Masters of Nursing studies). Successful applicants will join our Casual Pool as Undergraduate Assistants in Nursing commencing February 2011. All applicants will need to be flexible and available to work across all shifts.
Selection Criteria Documented evidence of undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing (3rd yr) or Masters (2nd yr) which would lead to Registration with the National Registration Board (AHPRA) in 2012 as a Registered Nurse.

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Previous recent experience as an Assistant in Nursing.

Australian Citizenship or a visa which permits employment in Australia

Demonstrated ability to be an effective team member.
