Purpose of Position

The Clinical Support Office (CSO) will provide timely and accurate administrative/ transactional services for members of the health care team on the Saunders Unit and for the SCH Ward under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM)/ Nurse Manger (NM). The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remain the responsibility of the NUM/NM.

 

This position is Permanent Part Time working 32 hours per week and is classified as an Administrative Officer Level 3.

Selection Criteria 1. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent

2. Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels

3. Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software

4. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment
