Purpose of Position

The locum physiotherapist will ensure the appropriate organisation, efficient management and delivery of physiotherapy services to patients in their assigned area within the physiotherapy department. The locum will  be responsible for patients referred to the SCHN Hospital in the Home service, involving community, home and school visits across the Sydney Children's Hospital Network catchment areas. Also to  provide physiotherapy services to inpatients  including respiratory and orthopaedic wards and clinics.

The locum  physiotherapist will act as part of the Lvl1/2 rotators team across the clinical streams and will be rostered on shifts and public holidays as required. Clinical supervsion will be provided by Senior (specialist area) physiotherapists.

The locum physiotherapist will participate in all activities required to provide as efficient and effective a physiotherapy service as possible to Sydney Children's Hospital.

Contribute to the education and development of the physiotherapy department as required and

relieve other physiotherapists as needed.

 

An exciting opportunity exists for a locum physiotherapist (until October 2017) in the Sydney Childrens Hospital, Randwick.

The position involves providing physiotherapy services as part of  the SCHN Hospital in The Home team, as well as the acute care of respiratory and orthopaedic patients in wards and clinics at SCH. A combination  of hospital and community/home based physiotherapy services is required and a current NSW Class C drivers Licence is essential.

 

This position is Temporary Full Time up to 31/10/17 and is classified as a Physiotherapist Level 1/2.

Selection Criteria 1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - AHPRA, as a Physiotherapist

2. Post- graduate hospital based experience providing physiotherapy interventions and management to babies, children and young people


3. Demonstrated knowledge of current clinical practices in paediatric physiotherapy, particularly in respiratory and orthopaedic areas

4. Recognised ability to communicate effectively and work well in a multidisciplinary team


5. Demonstrated understanding of quality activity cycles and workplace education


6. Availability for the shift roster incorporating weekends, overnight on- calls and public holidays.

7. Current NSW Class C drivers Licence
