Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for responding to concerns and complaints made by patients and families relating to the quality of services provided.  The incumbent will work with all staff across the hospital to ensure timely responses and quality improvements are identified.


This position is Temporary Full Time up to 03/09/2018 and is classified as a Health Manager Level 3

Selection Criteria 1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and/ or equivalent extensive experience of NSW Public Health System

2. Demonstrated high level problem solving, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation skills

3. Experience or demonstrated ability in complaints management

4. Able to demonstrate qualities such as integrity, warmth, empathy, friendliness and enthusiasm

5. Demonstrated commitment to Patient and Family centred care, patient representation and advocacy.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including preparing written responses and reports.

7. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with patients, parents / carers and all levels of hospital staff within a large and multidisciplinary environment

8. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage a busy workload with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
