Purpose of Position

Lead the strategic and operational delivery of effective human resources (HR), industrial relations and professional standards services and support, to deliver organisation-wide and business specific human resources, workforce and people outcomes in support of the achievement of WSLHD objectives.

 

An opportunity exists for an experienced Director Human Resources Business Partners to join the People and Culture Directorate, Western Sydney Local Health District.

 

This position undertakes work on behalf of the Executive Director to lead the development and expansion of human resources business partner services, industrial relations and professional standards services to deliver optimal support of the achievement of WSLHD. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and proactive management for improvement of HR business partnerships.

This position is permanent full time, working 40 hours per week and is classified as a Health Manager Level 5.

Selection Criteria 1. Tertiary qualifications in human resources and/or equivalent experience.

2. Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in the provision of HR services relevant to the role, as well as demonstrated experience in the management of professional standards frameworks and regimes and the implementation of audit and compliance processes, with knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.

3. Demonstrated experience in developing HR capability and expertise within a team environment in a large and complex organisation as well as demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing innovative solutions to complex HR matters.

4. Advanced understanding of the operations and workings of the NSW public sector.

5. Demonstrated ability to deliver team leadership that models the organisation’s core values and enables effective collaboration and team work.

6. Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage human, financial and physical resources and ensure budget and performance targets are met.

7. Demonstrated understanding and ability to strategically align employee and organisation needs and priorities.

8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with an ability to work constructively with and influence persons at all levels and a proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust.
