Purpose of Position

To provide a consultancy service within the Upper GI specialty to patients/clients,  carers and other health professionals  across the sector and within the nursing; to provide clinical leadership; participate and utilise research for Evidenced Based Practice; and coordinate the activities and outcomes of Upper GI nursing.

Selection Criteria Currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); with at least five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Upper GI surgery or related specialty.

Post graduate nursing qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation relevant to the specialty

Ability to function both within a multidisciplinary team environment and as an autonomous practitioner.

Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice through participation in research based projects and quality improvement activities.

Demonstrated clinical expertise in managing patients with complex issues within the Upper GI specialty. The ability to provide clinical education and training to the multidisciplainry team on the complexity of issues within Upper GI surgery.

Demonstrated commitment to community integration and consumer participation.

Highly developed written, verbal communication and computer skills with strong interpersonal and problem solving capabilities.

Highly developed aptitude for problem solving and negotiation with the multidisciplinary team.
