Purpose of Position

The Clinical Dietitian for Westmead and Auburn Hospitals will be responsible for providing nutritional assessment, therapeutic diets or enteral feeds and nutritional counselling for inpatients and outpatients of Westmead Hospital and monitoring those patients receiving nutritional support

These positions are temporary full time (up to 12 months), working 38 hours per week and are classified as a Dietitian Level 1.

Selection Criteria 1. Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics acceptable to the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) and a new graduate from an Australian Dietetics Course accredited by DAA.

2. Experience in clinical dietetics including the nutritional counselling of inpatients and outpatients; experience in the conducting of nutrition education and counselling in groups and commitment to continuing education.

3. Experience in liaising with dietetics and food services staff to ensure an appropriate food service to patients on special diets.

4. Well-developed written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills; effective time management and ability to prioritise workload.

5. Able to work as an effective team member as well as work independently.

6. Demonstrated high level computer skills and experience with Cbord and Cerner.

7. Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating research projects and experience in participating in quality improvement projects.
