Purpose of Position

 

The position is the first point of contact to internal and external customers accessing surgical services within Queanbeyan Operating Theatre Suite.

 

Surgical Bookings Officer is required to provide accurate information on clinical priority patients surgical waiting list as per PD2009_018 Waiting Time & Elective Patient Management Policy.

 

The Surgical Bookings Officer ensures that all wait list patients are appropriately informed of their choices in relation to their financial classification for each admission.

 

The Surgical Bookings Officer provides a broad range of administrative support services within the Operating Theatre Suite. Surgical Bookings Officer provides accurate and timely monthly and yearly statistical data.

 

 

This is a Temporary Part time position, working 6 hours per week until 19 March 2018 , and classified as Administrative Officer.  This position is located in Queanbeyan which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.   

 

The positions is open to employees of NSW Health.

Selection Criteria Proven ability in providing effective courteous service to surgical patients and their families.

Proven organisational skills and experience in clerical duties related to filing, typing and data entry.

Demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting demands and maintaining a professional work environment.

Demonstrated computer skills with MS Office programs and experience using NSW Health patient management systems and - IPM, EMR Surginet.

Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively liase with a wide range of people.

Holds a current Motor Vehicle license and the willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve travel with the Health Service.
