Purpose of Position

The position of Clinical Project Officer for the IVAN Crisis Service is to support the analysis and implementation of the 24 hour IVAN Crisis Service for SNSWLHD. The project officer will undertake a project to enhance an integrated business hours response to victims of sexual assault, domestic and family violence and suspected child abuse and neglect presentations, to ensure access to a consistent, safe and sustainable service.

 

This is a Temporary Full-Time position, working 38 hours per week until 30 June 2018, and classification is dependent on qualifications (either Psychologist or Allied Health Professional, Level 4). This position location is negotiable within Southern NSW Local Health District.

Clinical Project Officer - Integrated Violence Abuse and Neglect

 

The project officer is a temporary full time role, to support the analysis and implementation of the 24 hour IVAN Crisis Service for SNSWLHD. The project officer will undertake a project to enhance an integrated business hours response to victims of sexual assault, domestic and family violence and suspected child abuse and neglect presentations, to ensure access to a consistent, safe and sustainable service.

Experience working across the Violence Abuse and Neglect programs is essential.

Selection Criteria Feminine gender is a genuine occupational requirement (Section 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977) for sexual assault services.

1. Tertiary qualifications: A degree in social work with eligibility for membership with AASW / Degree in psychology with current registration with APHRA/ Tertiary qualifications as a counsellor/sexual assault worker in accordance with the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award.

2. Extensive clinical experience working and demonstrated competencies in sexual assault services, child protection services or trauma services, with experience in the delivery of crisis services.

3. Demonstrated experience in designing, planning, implementing and evaluating services/programs

4. Demonstrated experience in clinical case management and supervision and high level knowledge/experience of quality management processes and successful experience working within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated ability to facilitate a team approach.

5. Demonstrated understanding of current policies relating to sexual assault and other forms of inter-personal violence and knowledge of legal systems and legislation relating to sexual assault, domestic and family violence and knowledge and child protection.

6. Demonstrated high-level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and best practice models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse

7. Excellent written, oral and electronic communication skills, including high level computer literacy, use of databases and ability to adopt new IT programs/data reporting systems.

8. Current Driver’s License as well as an ability and willingness to travel for work purposes
