Purpose of Position

Provide sterilisation services, ensuring that processes and procedures are completed in accordance with statutory requirements, NSW Health policy directives and SOLHN policies and procedures. Carry out the core business of the department by working as a sterilisation technician to provide sterile and thermally disinfected reusable medical and surgical equipment to all areas for use in patient care. Work collaboratively with perioperative nursing staff and other SSU staff to ensure all facets in the reprocessing of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment, and maintenance of associated cleaning and sterilising equipment is undertaken in compliance with AS/NZS 4187. To provide best practice sterilisation services all wards/theatres and departments of the Goulburn Health Service, other SOLHN facilities including private external clients utilising the Sterilising services.

 

This is a Casual position, working hours dependent upon Health Services needs and classified as Sterilisation Technician Grade 1. This position is located in Goulburn which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.

Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated computer skills



2. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the Health Service and evidence of a Class C drivers licence.
