Purpose of Position	The Occupational Therapist will exercise independent judgement and proficient clinical reasoning in the provision of a high quality service that is accessible, responsive and culturally sensitive to children at John Warby Public School and their families. To plan, implement, evaluate and report on a range of school based assessment and intervention services that are in accordance with professional standards and evidence based practice. To establish sustainable whole class and small group programs using collaborative consultation, planning and education with preschool and school staff. To undertake quality processes which measure and monitor the effectiveness of this new paediatric Occupational Therapy service.
	An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide an outreach Occupational Therapy service to John Warby Preschool and Public School. This position will be supported by the Community Health Occupational Therapy department based at Rosemeadow Community Health Centre. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with a Speech Pathologist and classroom teachers to provide a range of school based assessment and intervention services.
Selection Criteria	Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, eligibility for practising membership of AAOT and elegibilty to register with AHPRA. Post graduate clinical experience as a Level 2 Occupational Therapist or equivalent, including proven ability to independently manage a clinical caseload with advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the provision of paediatric occupational therapy services in a community setting Current NSW drivers licence (P2 acceptable) Demonstrated strong commitment to teamwork, including working with other members of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with personnel from other services/organisations Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery, incorporating quality improvement processes Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, computer literacy and time management Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff and/or students Demonstrated commitment to continuous individual and team professional development and application of evidence based practice
