To provide practical assistance, case management and counselling to adult victims of domestic violence and their families. The Domestic Violence Counsellor will also participate on the Intake roster and provide a telephone counselling and response service. Ongoing intervention can include home visiting or outreach where appropriate. The position will be based at Hoxton Park Community Health Centre. This position is particularly suitable for a new graduate as there is extensive supervision and clinical supports available. This position is full time however only funded until the end of October 2013 however there is a possibility of extension. 

This full time position is based at Hoxton Park Community Health Centre and is funded until 31st October 2013 with a possibility of a further extension. This position is required to provide a case management and counselling service to victims of domestic violence.  The team accepts referrals from police via a faxback system and works with other agencies to provide an integrated, coordinated service. The counsellors also provide training to other professionals, are involved in community development projects and are committed to improving the outcomes for victims of domestic violence. This position would suit a new graduate due to the high level of clincial supports available to the position.
