Purpose of Position	The social worker will be responsible for the planning and provision of high quality social work services to clients of Queanbeyan and the surrounding area. The counsellor offers a counselling service to people both in the hospital and in the community to assist with a range of concerns. These include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, family relationships, domestic violence and adjustment to health conditions. Community development work within a multidisciplinary team is also part of the role. This includes community education and health promotion initiatives.
	This is a Permanent Part Time position, working 20 hours per week, and classified as a Social Worker Level 1/2. This position is located in Queanbeyan which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District. Previous applicants may not apply.
Selection Criteria	• A tertiary degree in social work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers • Demonstrated experience and clinical competence in the provision of social work services including assessment, advocacy and counselling to clients within hospital and community settings • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to prioritise work and manage and manage time effectively • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team • Demonstrated effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to work with challenging clients and liaise with service providers • Commitment to professional development and an understanding of and willingness to participate in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement activities • Demonstrated computer literacy • Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. Evidence of a class C driver’s licence
