Purpose of Position
  • The Nurse Manager of Lake Cargelligo MPS is pivotal to the co-ordination of patient care and assists with the day to day site management and staff leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient centred care and efficient use of resources.  This position has a clinical component that the successful applicant will need to fulfil.

 

The position is also responsible for providing an environment that supports learning in addition to a broad range of Nursing & Midwifery matters including:

  • Professional standards and practice
  • Practice development
  • Safe clinical practice
  • Evidence based practice
  • Leadership & Management development
  • Workforce and nursing workloads
 

This is a Permanent Full Time position, working 38 hours  per week, and classified as Nurse Manager Grade 1. This position is located in Lake Cargelligo and belongs to Murrumbidgee Local Health District. 


 

Selection Criteria 1) Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in health management or associated fields or working towards same and/or demonstrated successful experience at service management level

2) Demonstrated capacity to manage frontline clinical services together with the ability to utilise a range of communication strategies including negotiation and consultant skills within a hospital settings.

3) Demonstrated experience in assessing and supervising competence and performance of staff together with the ability to apply problem-solving strategies.

4) Proven ability to contribute to the operational plans of the Nursing and Midwifery service to coordinate the process of organisational change, and monitor and evaluate Nursing and Midwifery resource allocations.

5) Demonstrated clinical competence in working as a registered nurse in a multipurpose facility, including rural and remote emergency experience

6) Evidence of a current class C driver’s license and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the Health Service
