Purpose of Position	The Building Strong Foundations (BSF) Child and Family Health Nurse will work in partnership with BSF Aboriginal Health Education Officer (AHEO) and in consultation with internal and external children and family health providers. The position will deliver culturally appropriate child and family primary health care to ensure Aboriginal children have optimal health, development and wellbeing. The Building Strong Foundations child and family health nurse is a registered nurse working in a multi disciplinary health team at Community Health. Utilising the Families NSW framework, the position is responsible for the delivery of Aboriginal child and family health nursing services and home visiting as well as health education and community development.
	This is a Permanent Full Time position, working 38 hours per week, and classified as Registered Nurse. This position is located in Batemans Bay which belongs to Southern NSW Local Health District.
Selection Criteria	1. Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). 2.Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Child and Family Health and be an Accredited Nurse immuniser 3. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people in a culturally appropriate manner or demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of current related research and MOH policies for child and family health and Aboriginal health services 5. Completion of Family Partnership Training 6. Demonstrated skills in client support, assistance and advocacy and knowledge of the Family Partnership and the Families NSW Safe Start models of care. 7.Demonstrated ability in Infant /Child Health surveillance and screening, including experience in promoting health and well being of infants, children and their families 8. Evidence of a class C Drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances
