Purpose of Position

To assess and address the rehabilitation needs of the referred client ensuring the provision of quality client centred clinical rehabilitation interventions within a recovery framework that promotes wellness and enables functional independence, social empowerment and occupational enrichment.

This position delivers the above clinical rehabilitation service on weekends to ensure continuity of care for clients in ISMHU.

Selection Criteria Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. From 1 July 2012, must hold general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Experience and/or knowledge of contemporary principles and practices in mental health rehabilitation.

Experience and/or knowledge in undertaking culturally respectful psycho-social / rehabilitation assessments with clients with a mental illness and their families/carers.

Experience in program design and the development, utilisation and evaluation of group interventions based on identified consumer need.

Demonstrated interest and/or experience in applying evidence based psychosocial rehabilitation programs in a mental health setting.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Interest and/or experience in research and evidence based practice.

Competent with written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
