Purpose of Position

The position is a rotating 24/7 shift working position including weekends shared with other technical and scientific staff in the Transfusion laboratory and other labs as required.



Permanent fulltime 24/7 shift working position in Blood Bank at Westmead and possibly rotating to other Pathology West laboratories.  Suitable candidates meeting the essential criteria and new graduiates are encouraged to apply.

This position is Permanent full time, working 38 hours per week (24 hours, 7 day week rotating roster) and is classified as a Technical Officer.

Selection Criteria Minimum quals; approved Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology Testing #PML50199) or equivalent with subjects relevant to Pathology Testing. (Original qualifications and/or assessment of overseas qualification will have to be supplied at time of

Applicants should have previous experience in a Category B or G NATA accredited Chemistry, Haematology or Blood Bank laboratory. New graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Must be able to participate in 24 hour 7 day shifts and an On-Call roster and able to work rostered nightshifts, afternoon shifts and weekend shifts on a shared basis as required in a 24 hour 7 day
shift roster.

Experience with Pathnet Classic, Pathnet Millennium LIS system or other LIS.

Demonstrate sound knowledge NATA ISO 15189 requirements and other accepted industry standards and demonstrate sound knowledge of Quality Systems.

Must hold a current NSW Drivers licence be prepared to drive as part of the role.
