Purpose of Position	The position has been developed in response to recommendations made in The Final Report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into Acute Care services in NSW Public Hospitals (the Garling Report) that the provision and use of good quality data is an essential component in improving quality and safety in health care. The position of Computer Programmer will assist in the development, compilation and maintenance of software applications in accordance with CEC work requirements and will work directly with Local Health Districts to provide data that will improve patient safety and quality.
Selection Criteria	1. Tertiary qualifications in information technology and software engineering. 2. Sound knowledge and good understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices; understanding the life cycle of software development 3. Demonstrated skills and traced record/experience in development and deployment of database with ASP.NET particularly C# and MS SQL Server, and other systems such as Mac OS and its applications 4. Demonstrated ability to complete and manage the software development both independently and as part of a team 5. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills 6. Positive can-do attitude with a strong eagerness to learn 7. Commitment and capacity to implement government policies and practices, including Equal Employment Opportunity; Occupational Health and Safety; cultural diversity; ethical practice and continuous improvement. Desirable: • Depth of knowledge and experience of MS Windows Networking, ASP.Net Framework, and IIS • Extensive experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery • Experience with writing code of Android and IPhone/IPad Applications
