Purpose of Position
  • As part of the team, the Child and Family Nurse will be responsible for conducting a service with the aim of promoting the health and well being of infants, children and their families.
  • The Emphasis will be on a holistic approach to early intervention and prevention on all issues that may affect the well being of infants, children, young people and their families.
  • It is expected that the child and family Health Nurse will embrace a strong primary health care strategy
  • This position also provides an outreach post natal service to those patients who deliver at Albury-Wodonga Health Service, Northeast Health Wanagaratta and Yarrwonga District Health Service

This is a Permanent Full Time position, working 38 hours  per week, and classified as a Registered Nurse/Midwife. This position is located in Corowa and belongs to Murrumbidgee Local Health District.  Job share will be considered.

Selection Criteria Accreditated Nurse immuniser and a Graduate Diploma or Certifcate in Child and Family Health or working towards same

Demonstrated ability to provide specific screening, education, support, counselling and referral for women in relation to postnatal stress and depression

Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as both a registered nurse and registered midwife

Demonstrated ability in Child and Family Health Clinical Services including experience in promoting health and well being of infants, children and their families

Demonstrated client focused communication skills

Demonstrated understanding of working with people from Aboriginal and culturally diverse backgrounds

Abiity and Willingness to travel for work purposes. this may involve driving long distances within the Local Health Network

Evidence of a class C drvier's licence
