Purpose of Position

Support the Nurse Manager and when not present, the Nurse Manager (Deputy) assumes the site manager role; particularly so during periods of leave, short or extended absences


This is a Permanent Full Time position, working 38 hours  per week, and classified as Nurse Manager Grade 2. This position is located in Temora and belongs to Murrumbidgee Local Health District. 

Selection Criteria Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage clinical services within an acute care environment linking with primary and community health services. An understanding of the principles of primary health care as they apply to the position.

Demonstrated computer skills with experience in the use of MLHD clinical, quality and workforce information management systems

Knowledge, understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity; Ethical Practice; Ethnic Affairs Priorities Statements; and Occupational Health and Safety, as they relate to the position.

An understanding of managing cost centre budget and service targets.

Demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with peer managers, health professionals, patients

A commitment to formulating new approaches and implementing quality improvement strategies for nursing and or midwifery services.

Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the Health Service. Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence.

Demonstrated management experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications, or working towards the same, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
