We are seeking dedicated and experienced CMOs to join our friendly team at Griffith Base Hospital, suitable applicants will:

  • Have current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia, with a minimum of three (3) years experience post internship in a Public Hospital or General Practice.B
  • Be competent  in performing adult and paediatric basic/advanced life support as part of a rural multi-disciplinary team, knowledge of procedures required for stabilisation of patients prior to retrieval in an Emergency Department environment.
  • Have knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of general medical practice conditions.
  • Be able to demonstrate an interest in and/ or commitment to adapting new models of care, an understanding of the systematic processes in the provision of health care understanding of change management processes.
  • Have demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education to develop and consolidate personal skills and competencies for enhancement of professional capacity. Sound knowledge of and commitment to Quality Management, Ethnic practices and Cultural Diversity.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) provides a range of public health services to the Riverina and Murray regions of New South Wales across a geographic area of approximately 125,631 square kilometres.

 

We are inviting applications for a Visiting Medical Officer ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon.

 

Ideally applicants will be Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or International Medical Graduates, with a minimum 3 years post graduate experience.  

 

This exciting opportunity exists as part of our dynamic team in the Department of Surgery at Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital (WWRRH) which currently has 17 surgeons covering General, Vascular, Urology, ENT, and Paediatric Surgery. Supported by state-of-the-art technology, the brand new $280 million WWRRH is one of the busiest referral hospitals in NSW with 250 beds. To date more than $14 million of new medical equipment has been installed.

 

Our new ENT Surgeon will be an experienced clinician with a passion for providing effective surgical services. The position will involve elective and emergency theatre lists and acute on-call work. Responsible for the clinical management of admitted and referred surgical patients and a key figure promoting patient quality and safety whilst providing leadership, training, supervision, and education.

 

We service a catchment area of >300,000 and provide surgical services to a number of smaller sites including Young, Cootamundra, Temora, Tumut, Narrandera, Leeton, and Griffith and are home to rural clinical schools of the University of New South Wales and Notre Dame University Australia and  also affiliated with Charles Sturt University.

 

WWRRH and Calvary Riverina work together to facilitate safe quality patient care in Wagga Wagga and the surrounding catchment area. A private VMO appointment to Calvary Riverina will be facilitated with the suitable applicant. Calvary Riverina Hospital comprises 165 beds and 8 operating theatres providing a diverse range of acute and sub-acute services including ICU and critical care.
