Activities Therapist #397375

The position is to work in the Acute Mental Health Unit (Hall Ward) as a member of the multidisciplinary team.  The roster will be 6 hours on Saturdays, with14 hours to be worked M-F in a pattern to be negotiated with the Nurse Unit Manager of the Ward.

 

The Activities Therapist will establish, plan, implement and evaluate the activities program.  The program is both individual and group focused, for children and adolescents who are inpatients of the mental health unit at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (Westmead Campus).  The Activities Therapist will provide developmentally appropriate experiences to facilitate children and adolescents to cope with their illness and hospitalisation.

 

This position is Permanent Part Time working 20 hours per week and classification is dependent upon qualification - Allied Health Level 1/2.

The David Read Sleep Laboratory is seeking Casual Sleep Technologists.

 

The Department of Sleep Medicine supports diagnostic and treatment facilities to infants, children and adolescents with sleep associated and chronic respiratory disorders. This role includes preparation and supervision of children, for and during sleep studies. The Technologist will also be responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of high quality, digital physiological signals. The role also includes working collaboratively with other members of the RSS they will ensure efficient and effective service provision.

Selection criteria:

 

Tertiary qualification in a health related discipline.

Advanced computer skills, including data acquisition and analysis specific to the Sleep Medical Technology field.

Proven ability to work collaboratively

Effective communication skills.

Proven abilities in problem solving and critical thinking.

Ability to work evening and night shifts.

Experience working in a paediatric sleep laboratory (desirable)

 

This position is Casual and is classified as a Technical Officer Grade 1.
