Milton Ulladulla Hospital is rural acute facility that provides services including emergency, general medical and minor surgical services, antenatal and postnatal services, renal, palliative care, ambulatory care and oncology outpatient’s services for the southern Shoalhaven.


The Emergency Department is staffed by FRACGPs and FACRRMs supported by our experienced nursing staff. Shoalhaven Hospital, 50 minutes north, has a busy emergency department staffed with FACEMs who provide support by phone if required in addition to fortnightly medical education on-site. We see 15,000 presentations per annum, and experience peaks during holiday periods as our region swells with tourists enjoying the balance of a rural atmosphere by the sea.


As a General Practice Visiting Medical Officer at Milton Ulladulla Hospital you will have the option to elect to work in either the Emergency Department, inpatient care or a combination of both. We are looking for doctors who have a team focus, exceptional communication skills and a desire to learn emergency medicine & inpatient skills in a rural setting.


Applicants should have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Practitioners and/or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.  Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 6 months or interested in working as a GP under supervision are also welcome to apply. 


Milton, classified by the National Trust as an historic village, offers a beautiful scenic rural coastal setting for its 1600 residents. The village boasts art galleries and antique vendors, cafes and fine-dining restaurants, clothing and home wares boutiques. Milton is only a few minutes from beautiful beaches and the seaside township of Ulladulla which is the commercial and retail centre for the coastal resort district.
