An exciting opportunity exists to become part of the casual pool which offers shifts at Ryde Hospital, Hornsby Hospital and Medical Imaging across NSLHD.

 

This position is casual and is classified as a Registered Nurse. 

 

The Hornsby and Ku-ring-gai Health Service incorporates a 295 bed, major metropolitan hospital providing a comprehensive range of secondary level services, outpatient services, six community health centres and ten early childhood centres. Located on the main campus are NSCCAHS mental health services including an Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AMHU), Child & Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS- Brolga) inpatient unit, a Psychiatric Emergency Centre (PEC) and a Mental Health Intensive Care Unit (MHICU). We have a large range of departments and services, in both acute care and community settings.

These include acute Medical & Surgical wards, large operating suite department, medical assessment ward, Rehabilitation, Maternity& Paediatric wards, Emergency & Intensive care Departments.

 

Medical Imaging covers many modalities - X-ray, CT scan. Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Interventional Radiology Angiography Suite, Nuclear Medicine and PET scan. The only hospital to provide all these services is RNSH and also has a Day Only ward within the Department, while Ryde and Hornsby provide X-ray, CT scan and Ultrasound. Interventional Radiology procedures are carried out in CT scan, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography Suite and rare occasions in MRI. This is an exciting specialty where new procedures are performed to meet Medical advances for improved patient outcomes. A comprehensive orientation and training will be provided.

 

Ryde Hospital is an acute hospital within metropolitan Sydney and forms part of the Northern Sydney Local Health District. Services provided include Emergency Department, High Dependency Unit, Cardiology, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Rehabilitation, Midwifery Group Practice and a number of ambulatory services. Ryde-Eastwood has an excellent transport network in close proximity to the Hospital. Opportunities exist for support with professional development. Each inpatient unit is supported by a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) and additional CNE support across the organisation on most evening shifts during the week. Ryde nursing and midwifery services vision is to encourage and support staff to provide effective, compassionate and innovative health care.
