Purpose of Position

Tresillian is a highly regarded early parenting service and is the largest of its kind in Australia. If you want to work as an active participant of a team in partnership with families caring for children 0-3 years of age, you will find Tresillian a truly rewarding place to work.

The role requires expertise in family assessment and treatment, individual and relationship therapy, crisis intervention, group work, a knowledge and development of community networks and referral skills. Applicants who are social workers will be advantaged.

Note: Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

Selection Criteria The Social Worker/Psychologist is directly involved with families who attend Tresillian Family Care Centres. The focus is on family functioning:-
• Enabling parents to identify and develop strategies to deal with, the crises and stresses of parenthood.
• Enhancing the clients’ awareness of and interaction in interpersonal relationship in the wider family context.
• Promoting the emotional and mental health of the family.
• Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia OR Registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Experience or knowledge in parent/ infant interaction
• A working knowledge of Postnatal Depression
• Advanced level of individual and relationship counselling skills
• Experience working with families and young children
• Experience in group work
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
