Purpose of Position

Applications are invited from a suitably qualified Angiography/Interventional Postgraduate Fellow for a 1 year period within Western Sydney Local Health District.  The position will be primarily located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Radiology. The appointment is to WSLHD and while there will be a primary site, it may be a requirement of your employment to provide services at other facilities within WSLHD.


Successful applicant will be expected to work in a multidisciplinary team environment in the Angiography section of the Department of Radiology of Westmead Hospital, and be involved in triaging, prescribing, supervising, and reviewing Angiography examinations.


There is some allocated time for the Angiography fellow to participate in research projects, teaching, and additional subspecialty exposure.


The ANGIO fellow is required to participate in the afterhours on call roster for Angiography /Interventional, and be involved in teaching and relevant clinical meetings.


The position will be for a period up to 12 months.


Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District.

Selection Criteria Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Successful completion of the Part II RANZCR examinations, and completion of accredited training requirements

Basic clinical knowledge in Angiography/Interventional Radiology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position

High level interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of more junior trainees and medical students, and familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support clinical research within the Department

Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence based best practice

Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner
