Purpose of Position

We are seeking applications from a suitably qualified Endocrinologist for appointment to the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital as a Visiting Medical Practitioner. The successful applicant is required to cover the Diabetes Clinic on a Tuesday or Wednesday in circumstances where the Consultant assigned to that clinic is unable to attend.

Selection Criteria Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent, with specialist training in Endocrinology as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997.

Demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Endocrinology commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position.

Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience

Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment.

Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
