Purpose of Position

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated manager with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centered care. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the daily operation of the Contact Centre and contributing to the strategic directions of the Alcohol and Drug Service. 
Primarily this position is responsible for ensuring the team are resourced adequately to provide safe and effective alcohol and drug (including tobacco) information and counselling via telephone and other forms through social media including webchat.
The role will manage the NSW ADIS, WA ADIS (overnight calls), STP, Quit Prison, ACT Quitline, DASAS, OTL and Cannabis Caution lines. The role will ensure interventions provided by the Contact centre are evidenced based. In addition, this position will take a lead role in coordinating and supporting quality initiatives across the Alcohol and Drug Service.
The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only

Selection Criteria Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.

Relevant tertiary level qualifications in management or a health related field.

Demonstrated operational, financial, human resource, workplace health and safety and effective communication / interpersonal skills experience at departmental level.

Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement systems.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders

Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads

Understanding of harm reduction and strengths based approaches in working with people affected with substance use.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with report writing and computer literacy.
