Purpose of Position

Provide clinical management and consultation service to patients in the Rheumatology Department, participate in the on-call roster for RNSH and manage Northern Clinical School medical students' teaching programme in Rheumatology.


The position is full time, 1.0FTE and based at Royal North Shore Hospital. The department provides Rheumatology services for the NSLHD. There will be a minimum of three outpatient sessions a week, and the remaining time will be used for inpatient care, consultations and undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The management and delivery of the medical students' education programme will be an important role of this position.


The Staff Specialist will attend the Department of Rheumatology clinical meetings, which includes clinical audits, quality assurance and morbidity and mortality meetings.

This position is for a Staff Specialist in the Department of Rheumatology to the 1st of September 2018. This is a full time position, but could be filled by two people each working 0.5FTE.

Selection Criteria MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

Recognised Specialist qualification, Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered
