Purpose of Position

An exciting opportunity to help provide delivery of evidence based, timely, excellent care as part of the NBMLHD Drug and Alcohol medical team.  Delivering care across the entire LHD in a variety of settings, the successful applicant will work in the dedicated inpatient ward, Consultation/liaison service as well as ambulatory settings in the community and outpatient clinics.  The team provides many stimulating development opportunities for professional development, whilst never losing sight of the patient and family as its ultimate focus.

Selection Criteria Registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Fellowship of the AChAM, RACP and/or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997

Evidence of extensive and broad clinical experience in the field of Addiction Medicine, including contemporary approaches in the addiction field.

Demonstrated experience working with health providers in other settings, including mental health, hospital and primary care services

Demonstrate the skills and attitudes appropriates as a senior Medical Practitioner including modelling a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff;

Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites;

Demonstrated experience in teaching, research and training activities in the field of Addiction Medicine
