Purpose of Position

War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24 hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 7 day a week day centre, 24 hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team environment.

 

 

 

The purpose of the ACAT is the assessment of the needs of frail elderly clients and their carers in public and private hospitals, in the community and in the aged care facilities within the Waverley, Woollahra and parts of Sydney local government areas and organisation of support services, as appropriate.


 


A key function of this assessment process is the determination of the client’s eligibility for approval to access Commonwealth subsidised aged care services as set out by the Aged Care Act (1997) and interaction with the Department of Health and Ageing, My Aged Care (MAC) System.


 


The role is to provide administrative and clerical services to the Waverley SESLHD ACAT. By maintaining administrative tasks as directed by the ACAT Manager. Through the prompt, efficient, professional customer oriented telephone and reception service to internal and external clients, staff and visitors.  Assist with record keeping and other data collection and data entry required of this role, including the use of iPM, CHIME, CERNER, IIMS, MAC and other relevant programs. Assist with the running of the office by maintaining office stationery and supplies, process maintenance requests for office equipment etc. To assist the ACAT staff with their assessments by creation of medical records and processing.


 


Ideally the Administration job would be over five days, but this is negotiable with the successful applicant.


 


 


This role is a closed period contract until 30 June 2020.

Selection Criteria 1. Experience in a variety of clerical positions including reception, word processing, data entry, filing, faxing, scanning etc.

7. High standard of accurate word processing skills inclusive of medical terminology.

8. Demonstrated experience in frontline reception duties with highly developed telephone skills.
