Purpose of Position

This position will be responsible for delivering workshops, presentations and organising training activities; designing training materials; and resourcing, coaching and mentoring other staff around trainings. This position will be required to conduct several trainings per week with the rest of the time spent in the office completing other duties.

The successful applicant will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.


You have relevant tertiary qualifications, are highly organised, and a confident public speaker, enjoy training adult learners and developing innovative and creative training materials. You have demonstrated experience delivering effective trainings; as well as an interest in refugee issues.

You will be a highly motivated person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.

Work Type: 38 hours per week. Contract up to 1 year (continuation subject to ongoing funding)

Location: Carramar

Salary: Health Education Officer (range $59,500 to $88,000 depending on experience and qualifications), or relevant classification. Employees with previous eligible service recognisable for salary and entitlement purposes must produce proof of that service by way of statement/certificates of service from the former employer. 

A generous salary packaging scheme is also offered to reduce the taxable income and increase the take home pay.

Selection Criteria 1. Relevant tertiary qualifications (Eg. Education, humanities, health, etc)

2. Demonstrated experience delivering effective trainings to adults with excellent oral communication skills

3. Excellent organisation skills with attention to detail

4. Demonstrated experience designing training materials for audiences with a wide range of English language abilities and educational backgrounds, with excellent written communication skills

5. Excellent skills in the use of computer programs including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook

6. Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as a cooperative and respectful team member

7. Demonstrated interest in and understanding of social justice and human rights issues, including those affecting refugees and asylum seekers

8. Current unrestricted NSW driver’s license (P2 license acceptable)
