Purpose of Position

Position Summary

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Learning and Development Officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to implement and operationalise SVHA & SVHN learning and development strategies and activities, including the development, delivery and evaluation of programs across St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHNS), and to ensure the day to day administration of the organisation’s Learning Management System (LMS - My Health Learning ({MHL}) including reporting and analysis of MHL System data. This role is Monday to Friday, 0800-1630hrs.

 

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only

Selection Criteria Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

Experience in learning and development and in the design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programs and course curriculum in a health care setting

Ability to manage a Learning Management System with advanced computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Adobe and experience in the NSW Health LMS - My Health Learning considered highly desirable

High level of self-motivation, professionalism with a tolerance for ambiguity

Proven superior level communication and interpersonal skills, customer focus with a highly developed ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships, and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills

Tertiary qualifications in Adult Education or equivalent, a Cert IV in Training & Assessment and/or willingness to undertake

Demonstrated understanding of the vocational education and training sector and its governance through the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), other training systems and practices preferably within the health care landscape and a sound understanding of emerging trends in learning and organisational development and their likely impact on public hospitals

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
