Purpose of Position

Position Summary:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Nuclear Medicine Scientist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.


The MRS (Nuclear Medicine) at this level:

  • Demonstrates independent and significant professional knowledge and judgement when performing clinical tasks.
  • Takes an active part in multidisciplinary teams and gain experience in the more complex Nuclear Medicine procedures including Quality Improvement / Assurance activities.
  • Is expected to provide a high level of patient care and continue to develop their knowledge regarding work place safety issues (e.g. Manual Handling, OH&S).
  • Demonstrates significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and participates in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lectures

Selection Criteria 1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science - Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the accreditation board of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine and currently holds a radiation licence under the Radiation Control Act 1990.

3. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

4. Completed at least one year full time employment or equivalent in an ANZSNM approved Department and obtained their accreditation.

5. Demonstrated ability and willingness to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisation outcomes.

6. Proven high level communication, interpersonal and decision making skills and the ability to solve complex problems.

7. Developed knowledge in the application of quality improvement, industrial, risk management and WH&S principles.

8. Demonstrated significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and willingness to participate in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lectures.
