Purpose of Position

Position Summary;

Applications are invited for the position of Medical Education Support Officer (MESO) for the St Vincents South West Network which comprises St Vincents, Campbelltown and Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospitals.

The MESO will assist the Network Director of Physician training as well as the Site Directors of Physician Training in the organisation of the networked program of basic physician training across the three hospitals within the network. The role will involve assisting each of the Directors of Physician Training at each hospital to implement a program of excellence in training young doctors in their pathway to becoming specialist physicians. The role will involve travel to each of the networked hospitals and coordinating of the training program including professional development at each site.

In addition, the role will also involve administrative duties in the Medical Workforce Unit including rostering and support for processing of Visas and AHPRA registration for local and international medical graduates.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only

Demonstrated experience in education and training program facilitation and evaluation and/or Previous experience in an executive support officer role

Demonstrated human resource management skills and an ability to manage complex rostering

Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to organise and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and to work effectively both autonomously and as a member of a team

Demonstrated ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholders and an ability to be self-directed and proactive in seeking solutions to problems whilst undertaking a diverse range of tasks

Well developed computer skills with high level of competence in Microsoft Office, Email and Web-based applications

Demonstrated ability to compose draft reports and briefing papers

Current NSW driver’s licence and ability to travel to networked distant locations. Some out of hours work will be required on an ad hoc basis.
