  • A full-time 12 month contract commencing 14/01/2019

About the role

The role of the Senior Physiotherapist is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Physiotherapy service is provided to patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Physiotherapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and the Australian Physiotherapy Association. The Senior Physiotherapist will support the Physiotherapy Manager in the leadership and development of the Physiotherapy service.

The essence of this role:

  • Provision of effective and efficient Physiotherapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional mobility and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment.
  • Participate as a member of the HammondCare team and the local Physiotherapy leadership team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client centred, continuous quality improvement work environment.
  • Provide leadership within allocated specialty area including supervision of allocated staff and students in the performance of their duties and the provision of the highest standards of quality care.

Selection Criteria 1. Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
2. A tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
3. Significant practical experience and extensive knowledge in providing Physiotherapy Services in Rehabilitation
4. Demonstrated ability to work well within the multidisciplinary team
5. Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication
6. Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution
7. Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
8. Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement principles
9. A current drivers licence and safe driving record

10. Experience in staff and/or student supervision
11. Strong administrative and computer skills
12. An understanding of Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
