Purpose of Position

To manage and advocate for Clinical Governance across Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service by implementing and monitoring the HKHS Clinical

Governance Framework, Quality & Safety Plan and maintaining the HKHS

Organisational Risk Register to foster a culture of continuing improvement to provide safe and optimal care for patients.

This includes overseeing the clinical governance team, providing direction in Quality Improvement and Accreditation, Consumer Focus (Complaints & Commendations), Clinical Risk Management, Policy & Procedure development and maintenance and guidance of the HKHS internet and Intranet.

The Clinical Governance Manager aims to instil the principles of consumer focus, effective leadership, continuous improvement, evidence of outcomes and striving for best practice in all staff to ensure the HKHS functions as an improving organisation.

Applications are invited from a suitable qualified Manager for the above position within the Clinical Governance Unit, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Northern Sydney Health District.

Selection Criteria Health care experience in a Senior management or Quality Management role

Health related tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.

Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement clinical governance strategies and accreditation requirements

Advanced interpersonal and change management skills

Demonstrated high level communication skills including literacy, report writing skills and computer skills

Demonstrated experience in staff/department management and team leadership

Knowledge and experience in complaints management and risk management

Experience in the development and presentation of educational resources for
organisation wide clinical governance topics
