Purpose of Position
Based at Royal North Shore Hospital, the Library Services Manager will be responsible for management of Library Services across the Northern Sydney Local Health District. The manager will ensure the service is well positioned to meet the short and long term business needs of NSLHD, in accordance with agreed strategies, costs and resource allocations.
This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of high quality library resources and services to employees of NSLHD and students of affiliated universities. This position is also responsible for the management and supervision of library staff based at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai, Manly, Mona Vale, Royal North Shore and Ryde Hospitals.
This position is permanent full-time and is classified as a Librarian. Note that employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

Demonstrated experience in the management of a medical library, including management and administration of online resources and services and knowledge of contemporary trends and practices in information service delivery.
Completion of a relevant degree or postgraduate diploma and eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
Demonstrated high level experience in searching a range of online databases, expert searching and literature reviews, and in training end users to search effectively.
Demonstrated change management skills and experience in project management, including creation and appraisal of all relevant documentation.
Experience in staff management, including performance management, conflict resolution, mentoring, professional development, work prioritisation and scheduling and an understanding of EEO and OHS&R legislation requirements.
Understanding of hospital and library quality standards and commitment to a culture of ongoing quality improvement and a demonstrated strong customer focus.
Demonstrated financial/budget experience including projections, analysis and reporting.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills together with high level analytical, problem solving, and relationship management skills.
