This program is for Registered Nurses with twelve months or greater general ward experience. The program consists of a 6 month placement in each of the 4 units in the ICS. Participants will be employed on a full time basis, working 8-hour shifts on a rotating roster for the first year with the posibbility of changing to 12 hour shifts during their 2nd year.. The program participants and the Intensive Care Service commit to partake and follow a structured employment and educational framework. Participants will be expected to complete learning packages both generic to the critical care setting, and specific to the appropriate specialty.
