Purpose of Position

Under the general direction from the Manager and in accordance with functional requirements of the line area, undertake a combination of keyboard, clerical administrative and other duties within the Neurosciences Ambulatory Care Unit. This position is responsible for carrying out the administrative needs of the Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic and Neurosciences Ambulatory Care Unit. This will include data entry, filling reception, correspondence, telephone enquiries, patient bookings billings and other duties as directed by the Office Manager.

Selection Criteria Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers internally and externally both verbally and in writing

Medical terminology experience or certificate

Previous experience in a hospital or medical environment

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adapt to a constantly changing environment

Demonstrated ability to work in a team and individually

Previous experience in dictation / transcription typing of correspondence with above average typing skills

Demonstrated experience with computers and software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, data entry and patient booking systems
