Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and coordination to the development of treatment pathways and programs of care for people with an eating disorder (or related clinical care issues) presenting to the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. (ISLHD)

The position will oversee, in collaboration with local executives, oversight committees and the statewide coordination team, the implementation of the Local Eating Disorders Service Plan that has been developed in response to the NSW Service Plan for People with Eating Disorders (2013-2018).

The key components of this position are:

Service development: to drive local development and changes to eating disorder services across the inpatient and community setting;

Workforce development: to participate in training and supervision of local staff in the treatment of people with eating disorders;

Clinical consultation and care provision: to provide care and/or consultation when needed to staff and/or patients with an eating disorder; and

Participate in statewide activity: to work in partnership with the statewide coordinator and the coordination team comprising coordinators from all districts and to be actively involved in its activities.

Selection Criteria 1.Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/ or demonstrated relevant industry experience in health sector involving delivery of services relating to consumers with eating disorders

2. Demonstrated post-registration clinical experience including substantial experience in eating disorder service provision.

3. Ability to demonstrate evidence based knowledge related to eating disorders in both the Adult and Child/Adolescent populations.

4. Ability to develop, implement and evaluate research-based and innovative programs aimed at enhancing services.

5. Demonstrated ability in providing consultation services within eating disorders to other health professionals.

6. Demonstrated ability to supervise and provide clinical supervision to support staff with the ability to lead quality improvement activities related to eating disorders.

7. Excellent demonstrated communication, interpersonal, documentation and negotiation skills and demonstrated capacity to show initiative, leadership and to think strategically.

8. Current C class drivers licence.
