Purpose of Position

  • To Provide leadership and coordination to the development of treatment pathways and programs of care for people with an eating disorder (or related clinical care issues) presenting to the Local Health District.
  • To oversee, in collaboration with local executives, oversight committees and the state wide coordination team, the implementation of the Local Eating Disorders Service Plan that has been developed in response to the NSW service plan for people with Eating Disorders (2013 - 2018).


This is a Permanent Part Time position, working 16 hours per week and classification is dependent on qualifications (either Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Allied Health Professional, Level 4). This position location is negotiable within Southern NSW Local Health District.

Southern NSW LHD Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Service is seeking a motivated and experienced senior clinican to take up this exciting new role as Eating Disorder Coordinator. Use your expertise and years of experience to contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating of high quality evidence based consumer and carer focused service provision for people with eating disorders and their families.






Selection Criteria •Relevant qualifications and current AHPRA registration for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists & Clinical Psychologists or eligibility for membership of peak professional body for Social Workers and Counsellors.

• Demonstrated post registration clinical experience including substantial experience in eating disorder service provision.

• Demonstrated ability to provide eating disorders clinical supervision, consultation and supportive services to other health professionals.

• Demonstrated capacity for planning, implementing, evaluating, reporting and providing advice in clinical service delivery and redesign.

• Ability to develop, implement and evaluate research-based and innovative programs aimed at enhancing services.

• Demonstrated high level communication skills, written and verbal, including proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

• Current Class C Driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the health district.
