Purpose of Position

The position is for a permanent part time person (16 hours per week) to work as part of the team in the Central Specimen Reception Department within SEALS pathology and to provide an accurate, efficient and timely service.
This position covers days, evenings, weekends and Public Holidays.

 

This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand Policy Directive PD2011_005 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Diseases. All new recruits must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. New recruits must provide evidence against specified diseases and comply with the requirements of this policy at their own cost prior to appointment.

 

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time, temporary and casual vacancies.

 

This position is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only occur if there is no suitable local applicant.

Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated experience with accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.

2. Prepared to handle Biohazardous material.

3. Must be able to work a flexible roster in accordance with the needs of the department.

4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as unsupervised.

5. Demonstrated commitment to customer service.

6. Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.

7. Recent demonstrated experience in a Central Specimen Reception or similar environment.
